FAMILY TREE INFO
It is believed that I was part
Choctaw, the indigenous people of the Eastern Woodlands,
who lived mostly
in central and southern Mississippi and spoke a Muskogean branch of
the Hokan-Siouan language stock. They had an agricultural economy
and were excellent farmers. After being forced to cede their lands,
they moved in 1832 to Indian Territory and became one of the
FIVE CIVILIZED TRIBES. In 1990 there were 82,299 Choctaws in
the U.S., with more than half living in Oklahoma.
I married George Allen Freeman on
November 18, 1898.
