NATIONAL DEBT vs. PRESIDENTS vs. PARTY POWER IN CONGRESS (SENATE & HOUSE OF REPS)
This web page depicts actual facts concerning our U.S. National Debt and its relationship over time to those in power and key events in history.
Everyone who lives and works in the U.S. should be educated about these economic relationships and understand the implications outlined by
the data.  Likewise, everyone in the so called "global economy" will be directly affected if this problem continues unchecked.  It is not just a U.S.
issue.  It is a global issue.  With that in mind, let's begin with some honest facts and then look at the data and a graph supporting these facts...
True: The U.S. National Debt has been growing and growing for years and years (click on "The Picture" tab below).
False: While Bill Clinton was President the National Debt was reduced.
True:  The U.S. National Debt keeps increasing thanks to Congress and Congress alone; a mix of Democrats and, to a
lessor degree, Republicans (see data below).
False: Bad Presidents are the key reason this country gets deeper in debt.
True:  Congress and Congress alone apparently refuses to operate on a BALANCED BUDGET and to address the debt.
False: It is all the fault of President Bush and the Republicans.
True:  Congress and Congress alone votes to allow wars and provides funding for all wars, including recent efforts in
Iraq and Afghanistan.
False: Republicans take us to war and Democrats bring us home.
True:  535 people in Congress have racked up $16+ Trillion in U.S. National Debt (by end of 2012) and about 227.5 million
possible tax payers will owe that debt to other "investors" as a result (that is apx $62,000 per person over 20 yrs old in
the U.S.).
False: It is all the fault of the Republican party's failed economic policies.
Q: Assuming you look over all this information WHAT, if anything, can be done about this problem?
A: Make your Representatives STOP SPENDING MONEY THEY DO NOT HAVE!
NOTE: ALL TIME LINE DATA BEGINS APX ONE YEAR BEFORE THE START OF WORLD WAR II (SEP 1, 1939) ONWARD.
